HEIRLOOM Mmmmm! The deliciousness of garlic with the ease of chives? Yes, please! We love to snip these fragrant leaves just outside our kitchen door, savoring their abundance from snowmelt in spring ’til they’re deep in snow again. Hardy to Zone 4, Garlic Chives bloom in early summer just like chives and we enjoy their white blossoms as much as their tender leaves in salad, mashed potatoes, scrambled eggs and so much more.
Garlic chives’ sulfurous compounds both in leaf and flower deter pest insects, making them an excellent companion plant.
