Organic Gold Medal Tomato

Indeterminate | 75 days to harvest | Lycopersicon lycopersicum

HEIRLOOM Organic Gold Medal Tomato has been a favorite of ours for too many years to count. Its massive 12+ ounce fruits are beautiful, fading from yellow to orange to red and the marbling of colors inside is absolutely stunning. The ultimate reason we can’t live without them though is their flavor. Rich and sweet with just a touch of tart melting in your mouth, Gold Medal is a dream tomato sandwich.

And though it will be one of your last varieties to ripen, trust us: it’s worth the wait. Especially because Gold Medal is surprisingly tolerant of Late and Early Blight. We typically harvest fruits 6-8 weeks after the susceptible varieties have succumbed. Their soft, thin skin is remarkably crack-resistant, as well.

We grew these tomato plants in CT last year. The plants have strong, hearty stems that are excellent for staking. They were staked 10-ft tall. The fruits were large, plentiful, delicious and well supported by the strong branches! At the end of summer the green fruits ripen well indoors. Perfect for slicing with a pinch of salt, or not 🙂 Highly recommended.
