Partial Shade

Most garden vegetables thrive in full sun, it's true. But here is an observation to surround you with abundance, even in partial shade: leaves are essentially solar panels, so plants focusing on leaves rather than flowers and fruit will surround you with abundance even in partial sun. Fruition Seeds shares a wide range of luscious leaves from basil to lettuce, cilantro to chard, dill to mesclun mix. One brilliant way to reduce their sun exposure and extend their window of deliciousness is to companion plant in the relative shade of tomatoes and other tall plants, especially in the heat of summer.
