75 days to harvest Cichorium intybus

HEIRLOOM One of our favorite greens of all time, Organic Sugarloaf Chicory green radicchio is absolutely luscious. Both sweet and crunchy, her large ‘loafs’ of leaves are reminiscent of romaine with the distinct flavors of chicories and radicchio stronger in her green outer leaves, more sweet and tender in her blanched heart. We love sugarloaf chicory in salads best of all, though we also grill and roast her whole as well as stir her into polenta in the final moments before serving.

Sugarloaf green radicchio is impressively cold-tolerant & indeed, she’s most abundant and flavorful when maturing into the coolness of fall, so we sow her in mid/late July for fall harvest that extends into December.
