Organic Cuisse du Poulet du Poitou Shallot

These long, tapered & exceptionally sweet shallots are prized in France as well as the home of Patrice Fortier, Quebecois farmer/seed saver/muse, who pressed these seeds into our hands with passion electric in 2014. We’ve been saving them since, enraptured by their lovely length (they are such a pleasure to prepare in the kitchen) as well as their savory sweetness that deepens as they store, all winter long, in our cellar.

1 of 5 Disappointing January 8, 2019

I don’t know what happened with these. I used the heat mat indoors and successfully planted in garden. When they got to be about 5” they started to rot and I lost them all. Me, weather, product??? Not sure.

5 of 5 Vigorous and Delicious! January 6, 2019
Reviewer: Mary Beth from Center Rutland, VT United States
Nearly every transplant was very successful—they put our onions and garlic to shame with their huge tops and pretty bulbs. Delicious and will grow many more next year, not wasting my time with onions!

The shallot does look like a chicken leg which made it easy to cut up and cook with!

My first time growing shallots from seed and this variety did not disappoint.  Easy to start and are now storing well.
