As they grow larger, we harvest full-size leaves to savor in all the many ways we enjoy kale, collards and chard. Preferring cooler temperatures, Peking Ta Ching Kao is a fabulous spring and fall crop; we also cover them with hoops and floating row cover to minimize flea beetle munchings.

Organic Peking Ta Ching Kao Asian Greens

Direct Sow: Early spring to late summer, sow 10-12 seeds per foot 1/4″ deep in rows 18-24″ apart. Thin to 4-6″ between plants. Keep well watered to slow bolting. Spring crops are more susceptible to Flea Beetles than fall crops; control beetles with floating row cover. Harvest entire plant when buds appear or pick buds for extended harvest.
