90 days to flower 30-36" tall Withania somnifera

Often described as ‘feminine ginseng,’ the roots of ashwagandha are deeply medicinal, both tonic and adaptogenic, allowing our bodies to adapt to stress with greater resilience. If you’re looking for easy-to-grow medicinal herbs to restore and revitalize, Ashwagandha and Tulsi basil are at the top of our list.

We delight in Ashwagandha’s silver-green leaves and miniature white flowers turning into tiny red fruits inside golden husks. The seeds of ashwagandha are easy to save; we harvest her roots for medicine after first frost in fall. We make our own ashwagandha tincture to drop under our tongues every night! Wishing you delicious resilience, as well.

I was so excited to discover these seeds! I started them indoors as instructed and had good germination. I grew the transplants along side my squash and tomatoes all year. I had great success – they each grew about 2-2.5 feet tall. I pulled them just as the berry husks started to brown, skinned and dried the roots and used them in tea. I will be growing this again!
