Capsicum chinense
Description
Our hottest. Pepper. Period.
The key ingredient in Jamaican ‘jerk’ sauces, Habanero is one of the world’s most popular hot peppers with a blazing 210,000 units on the Scoville scale. Organic Magnum Habanero Pepper is the classic brilliant orange bonnet-shaped scorcher with vigorous plants remarkably tolerant of cool conditions ensuring abundance even in the Northeast. A different species than our average peppers (Capsicum annuum), start your Habanero (Capsicum chinense) seeds three weeks earlier in the greenhouse for optimal production.
