55-62 days to harvest compact 2.5-3' tall Pisum sativum

We’ve never seen peas quite like these (o! those vivid glossy purple pods!) and they’re equally delectable. Easy to grow on impressively compact 2 to 3-foot plants, we love to let each sumptuous snow-style pods swell just a bit so they crunch all the more with even more sweetness. Thriving in containers and optimal for gardens both small and large, we often plant them at the same time as full-size (5+ foot tall) pea varieties like Sugar Snap: they’ll mature several weeks ahead of the full-size peas, so the combination of the two makes for 5+ weeks of glorious pea harvest. Savor the beauty & diversity of Spotlight Snow Pea Medley’s cascading pods for weeks and weeks!

Early maturity also makes Spotlight Medley an ideal fall pea: Here in Zone 5, we sow compact peas in late July or early August for a harvest at the end of September of pods sweet as can be. For a two-toned version of the Spotlight experience see Organic Spotlight Snow Pea.

(Pods that develop in the cool temperatures of fall convert many of their starches into sugar and they are even sweeter than any summer pea!) These peas, Cardinal, Zap, Epistro and Merlot, were developed at Cornell University in addition to untold generations of co-adaptive indigenous brilliance.
