Description

And indeed, she is!

Shaved in salads or thrown on the grill, it is not summer without Organic Perfection Fennel in our gardens. We love the bulb but don’t just compost your greens: fennel’s sweet wispy greens we snip on salads and tuck in sushi; we also blend these fronds with garlic and herbs like basil and parsley in endless pesto-like sauces.

Though fennel prefers to grow in the cool of spring and fall, Perfection has more bolt-resistance than most. Nonetheless, spring and especially summer-sown fennel maturing into the shortening days and cooler temperatures of fall grow the sweetest, most tender bulbs. Transplant fennel for ease of cultivation; ample fertility and consistent water will yield good bulbs in any season.
