Phacelia tanacetifolia
Description
NATIVE Like extraordinary lace, Phacelia’s fern-like leaves unfurl dramatic lavender blossoms like fiddleheads, her bright purple pollen attracting flocks of beneficial pollinators. Easy to grow in gardens and raised beds as well as containers, phacelia is one of our favorite annual native flowers and the bees quite agree!
For consistent nectar throughout the season, sow each month until 2 months before first frost. Phacelia is remarkably frost tolerant, often blooming til the snow flies when sown in August.
At Fruition, we sow most organic phacelia seeds in soil blocks indoors 4 weeks before final frost to transplant after final frost with one foot between plants.
