4-6" blossom 45-52" full-size plant Dahlia pinnata

Marilyn’s exquisite raspberrry 4 to 6-inch blooms emerges from long, strong stems perfect for cutting.

Marvelously early, Marilyn began as a single exquisite seed in 2014;  we’ve been increasing their tubers ever since, hoping to share these glory of these blooms with you one day — and the time has come!

A new dahlia to the world, Marilyn’s debut was July 31st at the wedding of our dear friends Sylvia and Eric. We woke at dawn and harvested 6 buckets of perfect stems from a few dozen plants, tucking them gingerly into our truck to rumble up the hill. Sylvia burst into joyful tears as buckets of bouncing, brilliant blossoms arrived and we asked what she’d love to name them…without hesitation she exclaimed, ‘Marilyn!’ for her mother’s mother who joined us that day in loving memory, whose care and grace are embodied in each bloom.

To extend dahlia vase life, place freshly cut stems in 160-180 F water & allow to cool.

*Friends, we will be sharing a very limited stock of dahlia tubers in 2023 followed by a pause on sharing dahlia tubers in future years. As such we will not be launching on a specific date & time this year. If a product is "Out of Stock", we are truly out of stock.
