Description

Van Gogh would swoon. Or at least, we do. Stunning and so easy to grow, each magenta-lined ivory blossom sways in even the slightest breeze. The plants themselves are elegant as well, their fern-like lime-green foliage often reaching four feet tall, blossoming from July all the way to frost. Her long stems make Double Take an ideal cut flower, as well! Butterflies float over the flowers all day as goldfinches lunch on her seeds. Cosmos seeds are easy to collect with plenty to share, so you’ll enjoy her for years if not generations to come! At Fruition, we sow cosmos indoors in soil blocks 4 weeks before final frost to transplant after final frost, though you can easily direct sow cosmos after final frost, as well.

Organic Double Take Cosmos

Direct Seed (recommended): After last frost, shallowly sow 4 seeds/foot & thin to 1/foot when first true leaves appear. Wider spacing = thicker stronger stems. Bouquets: harvest when petals first open. Deadhead for blooms all season. Transplant: Shallowly sow 4 weeks before transplanting after last frost at below spacing.

Transplant your cosmos for earlier blooms and more full-size plants per pack; direct sow for blooms throughout the season and simplicity of sowing. Sowing Date: After frost, late May to early June Seed Depth: 1/4 inch Days to Germination: 7-10 Days to Maturity: 65-70 Plant spacing after thinning: 18-24 inches Height: 3-4 inches
