Organic Zeolights Calendula Edible, medicinal & beautiful! Developed by Frank Morton. Each edible petal is cantaloupe-pink grapefruit fading to yellow at the tip on the front, burgundy on the back. Easy to grow and remarkably drought tolerant, Zeolights is perfect for containers and will readily naturalize if let them go to seed. Medicinally, blossoms are steeped in high quality oils as a base for healing balms and salves. To prevent this seed from ever being patented, Frank Morton (the breeder) listed Zeolights with the Open Seed Source Initiative. Amazing color November 28, 2016
Reviewer: John Aldrich from Sterling, CT United States
It took a little longer to bloom than my traditional orange calendula, but easily out lasted it even through "soft" frosts. It produced many blooms, none of which i saved (like i do with the orange) because my main motive was to collect seed... so i cant review if the dried petals retain the color when soaked in oil for soap/salve-making. Cant wait to plant more next year to harvest the blooms.
