Organic Persian Jewels Nigella Sow these somewhere you can appreciate them every day, without trying: you will be so glad you did.
First they are an unassuming lime-green tuft of fern-like foliage, growing taller & taller til, about 2 feet tall, they begin to send out flower stalks. Subtle at first, they explode into the most exquisitely intricate blossoms of infinite blues & lilac, with a touch of mauve & cream. And as their petals fall away, their seed heads form with their wild spires, lime green and burgundy, and their feathery plumes of foliage, effortlessly elegant.
They make extraordinary cut flowers but truly what makes Persian Jewels stand out are their seed pods, cut and dried, green fading to gold to contrast burgundy for years to come.
The easy to grow blooms of Persian Jewels are countless from mid-July to mid-September. Hint: the fuller their sun, the more blooms you'll enjoy.
