Organic Grosse Blonde Paresseuse Lettuce HEIRLOOM One day, if you are fortunate, you will visit the gardens of Patrice Fortier in Quebec. His seed company, La Societe des Plantes, is one of the most unique and visionary expressions of art, food, seed and humanity. Your life will never be the same.

We had the great fortune of sailing the upper Saint Lawrence to see him and fell in love, among other things, with this lettuce. It's translation says it all: Large Lazy Blonde. Indeed, this lusciously massive head of lime-green, melt-in-your-mouth lettuce is impressively bolt-resistant, even in the heat of summer, simply waiting, patiently, for you to enjoy it. Lazy lettuce! Is a virtue :)

I planted my lettuce last Sunday using last year seeds in my trays. Four days later the lil babies have popped.

I direct sowed last year and the lettuce last year was fantastic. Once it warms up South of Boston I will direct sow again.

We can hardly wait to do it all again!

The most delicious plant I have ever tasted. Enjoyed it so much, only a few heads made it home. The rest were gobbled up still half covered in soil out in the field!
