Organic Arnica Native across temperate North America, we love Arnica for its extraordinary herbal qualities and for its unfailing cheer in the garden. Interchangeable with Arnica montana, Arnica chamissonis is less elevation dependent and is abundant with multitudes of 20 inch flower stalks. Arnica quickly creates a thick carpet of bright green leaves and brilliant yellow flowers. Medicinally, Arnica heals inflamed injuries like none other. The infused oil, salve or tincture of its lovely yellow dried flowers, applied topically, is an effective treatment for blunt traumatic injury, strains and sprains. Arnica also increases circulation to help reduce swelling and dissipate bruising. For thousands of years Arnica has been combined with Calendula and Saint John’s Wort for a powerful trio relieving pain, fighting infection, promoting nerve reparation and speeding innate healing.

Planting: In early thru late spring sow seeds by pressing them into spongy potting soil, taking care to not cover them with soil and keep evenly moist and cool until germination which usually takes 2 weeks. Transplant at 6 inch spacing in loose, acidic loam if you can. Arnica thrives with full sun and even moisture, quickly creating a carpet of Arnica for you to enjoy. Perennial in Zone 3 and warmer.
Seed Saving: Saving Arnica seed is easy: simply wait for each flower to form disc of dry seed that readily separates in your hands.
