Organic Chinese Savory Melon
80-85 days to harvest
Cucumis melo
Description
HEIRLOOM Melt in your mouth and oh so juicy, we’ve never tasted a melon even remotely like this, Friends: Deep melon flavors nuanced with tropical fruit, Chinese Savory resists saccharine sweetness yet is so fabulously refreshing. If flavor is a fascination as well as profound joy in your life, a) we can be friends (!) and b) your life will never be the same after tasting this melon. With a thin rind melting like butter in your mouth alongside the rich flesh, the entire experience of this melon is both familiar and impressively unique. Easy to grow and with a wider harvest window than many melons, each plant shares 3 to 4 exquisite fruit, so beautiful and easy to spot amid the forest of melon foliage.

To harvest even more and earlier melons, grow them under
hoops and
floating row cover until they flower. This allows them to grow faster while also protecting them from the voracious cucumber beetles transmitting bacterial wilt.
