5 of 5 Fun, beautiful plants that (oops) fed the wildlife December 23, 2018

I was delighted with these seeds, which did just fine in Maine. The pale pink & white blossoms were lovely and the sturdy pods are quite beautiful. Unfortunately I had been checking the seed heads routinely on the plants in the fields, waiting for them to turn brown before harvesting but after getting a hard frost, the wild rodents decided that it was time to stock up and they ate almost all of the seed in just two nights. Next season I'll harvest them earlier or try row cover to keep the critters away.
