After millennia of indigenous co-adaptation, collaborations at Cornell inspired the brilliance of many delectably disease-resistant cucumbers brilliantly adapted for short seasons. Silver Slicer Cucumber is a shining example! We adore Silver Slicer for her depth of flavor, thin smooth skin and juicy-crisp texture. With resistance to Powdery Mildew, plan for abundance even in the late season.

I was so happy to finally find these little cucumbers I had heard people raving over, and they did not disappoint! Excellent production even under less than ideal circumstances. They also did not get bitter on me. Love love love them!

A new favorite that we will grow every year. They far out produced any cucumber that season and any season. The white skin looks cool. They are delicious fresh. None of them were weird pointed shapes even though other varieties did that (mostly from inconsistent water and heat issues last season). But this Silver Slicer just kept on going putting out way more than we could eat. Gave many cucumbers away and that’s always fun.

My most successful cucumber. I’ve had little luck with cucumber in the past, lucky to get a couple of misshaped stunted bitter fruit. With 2 plants I have successfully grown enough for pickles, eating fresh and using in recipes for perfect summer dishes. None have been bitter even through the hottest and driest weather. They are good eating if picked small or large. Silver Slicer Cucumber will have a place in my garden every year going forward.
