Organic Apple Trees: Final order date is March 31st, Friends! Shop Now
Growing up in my father’s garden, I thought 5 deliciously ripe red peppers per plant was abundance in our short seasons; now I know regional adaptation makes all the difference for all seeds and especially those requiring heat and long seasons, like peppers as well as melons, eggplant and tomato.
Fruition shares organic, regionally adapted seeds of abundant sweet and hot peppers ranging from heirloom to esoteric, a vibrant spectrum of color as well as shape and flavor, including several that thrive in containers. Also, the vast majority of peppers ripen from green to red, yellow, orange, purple or any number of glorious colors as their seeds mature. Classic green peppers are simply unripe red peppers, it’s true! If you're looking for an abundant green pepper, Mountaineer is our go-to.
Here in Zone 5, we sow peppers indoors in early April to harden off & transplant in late May. If you have a great seed starting set-up with a great grow-light and plenty of time to tend your seedlings, feel free to start your peppers earlier, just keep in mind that younger, unstressed transplants are almost always more fruitful than older, more stressed transplants.
