At Fruition Seeds, we sing the praises of paste tomatoes in every season! We crave the massive Italian Heirloom tomatoes, flavorful enough for a stand-alone sandwich yet ideal for sauce with impressively meaty flesh and remarkably few seeds. More suited for short seasons than San Marzano, our Ten Fingers of Naples is a classic roma shape on long, luscious trusses. Both have intermediate disease resistance and will surround you with incredible abundance for many seasons to come!
At Fruition, we sow tomatoes indoors two months before final frost in early April to harden off & transplant after final frost in late May. If you have a great seed starting set-up with a great grow-light and plenty of time to tend your seedlings, feel free to start your tomatoes earlier, just keep in mind that younger, unstressed transplants are almost always more fruitful than older, more stressed transplants.
