Organic Fern Cliff Dahlia Here is the dinner plate dahlia that won our hearts years ago. Yes, her luscious lilac blooms unfurl like massive, floating water lilies! And yes, she was blossoming in earnest by the third week in July. Each of her countless petals are absolutely delicious, like floral baby lettuce: That is what truly sent us to the moon. We rarely made a salad without her til frost. And if you're looking for a fabulous cut dahlia, her long, strong stems will not disappoint. We've learned the hard way that horizontal trellising (like ours here ) makes a world of difference. Trellising ensures the greatest number of glorious, easy to harvest blooms, reducing their susceptibility to powdery mildew and spider mites. We love to share what we love and everything we learn!
