Chinese Chestnut Seedling

So creamy and sweet, so nutritious and so abundant, have you tasted homegrown chestnuts before? Our friend Amanda brings us her chestnuts each fall, their abundance such a gift for our entire community. Renowned for the quality of their nuts, Chinese Chestnuts are fast growing and are heavy bearers luscious nuts generally larger than the American Chestnut. When mature, the Chinese Chestnut is a wider, branching tree than the American Chestnut, suitable for shade & for attaching swings. Chinese Chestnuts have shown good general resistance to Chestnut Blight, but resistance level is variable in seedlings. Fruition’s Chinese Chestnuts are 1-2 foot seedlings. And Friends, at least 2 seedlings are required to eventually produce nuts, but will also pollinate American and Japanese Chestnut species trees.
