Quick vs Slow Microgreens: What You Need to Know

The Quick List!

of quick vs slow microgreens

Quick-Growing Microgreens

often harvested 10 to 15 days after sowing

Broccoli, arugula & kale often sprout within 24 hours & are harvested 10 days later, not to mention they are so delicious as well as versatile. Other quick microgreens include amaranthradish (try our confetti mix for all kinds of colors!), mustard & asian spinach (tatsoi).

Slow-Growing Microgreens

often harvested 16 to 26 days after sowing

Quick-growing microgreen herbs like basildill and cilantro are not as quick as broccoli & other brassicaceous (isn’t that a lovely word?!) microgreens, though they are the most delicious & add so much life to our soups & curries all winter long. Other slow-growing microgreens include sunflowerbuckwheatbeets and chard.

Can you combine varieties in a tray?

We love to sow multiple varieties in the same tray, we just always grow quick-growing seeds with other quick-growing seeds, so they harvest about the same time.
