Feeding & Fertilizing Container Gardens

Using fertilizers & compost in your container gardens

Friends, smaller volumes of soil means nutrients will be used more quickly by growing plants. It’s important to provide lots of delicious “snacks” at planting time, as well as through out the season.

  • Compost: add up to 50% compost to your raised bed or container soil
  • Prior to planting add 1/4 cup of Granular Fertilizer to every gallon of soil, evenly distributed
  • Fish & Kelp Emulsion: dunking transplant’s roots prior to planting and then foliar feeding/root drenching once a week throughout the season is the dream!
