Description
Organic Carmencita Castor Bean
90 days to flower | Rinus communis
Not subtle or subdued, castor beans are unapologetically gorgeous tropical behemoths, quickly growing eight feet by August with ruby leaves two feet wide.
Magnificently, hummingbirds sip their nectar all day long and sparrows often take up residence in her lush foliage. No matter how lovely, resist harvesting Castor Bean for bouquets: When her branches break, her sap is poisonous both internally and externally to mammals. But don’t be daunted: We enjoy them all summer and so do our dogs; don’t break branches & you all will be just fine! If you harvest her seeds, wear gloves.
Like sunflowers, trellising is unnecessary.
