Organic Anise Hyssop Grown by Fruition Seeds in Naples, NY HEIRLOOM Purple spires of fragrant flowers bloom all summer long above velvet green foliage! An incredible insectary and medicinal perennial, 2-4' feet high. We use the leaves in tea and cough syrup, the seeds in cookies. Our original seed came from the permacultural genius and generosity of Sean Dembrosky of Edible Acres in Trumansburg, NY, whose farm and extraordinary perspective gifts to us all.

I failed on my first attempt at starting this from seed indoors.  But then Petra explained the seed starting needed to be on the dry side.  My first attempt was definitely with a wetter environment.  I used soil blocking both times.  Even though the second attempt was late in the spring, I had beautiful plants by summer, with nice tea from the leaves in the fall.

Fast germination seems to be doing well. I started it indoors because I was itching to get going on the garden. It transplanted well. It's sill small but this is my first time growing hyssop.
