Organic Epazote Popular in Latin America, where we first fell in love with it's rich aroma and unique flavor. Rice and beans cooked with epazote are more delicious as well as more digestible. It is a potent plant: we put a 2 to 3 inch young sprig in with large pot and there is no mistaking its fresh, resinous flavor that deepens the flavors around it. Small, young leaves make unusual additions to salad. In larger quantities Epazote is also used as a vermifuge, discouraging worms from livestock as well as humans. We also love epazote for its sweet, subtle flowers that attract beneficial aphid-eating autumn syrphids.

Epazote becomes a 2 to 3 foot plant with dramatic spires of leaves and subtle flowers. It is drought tolerant and will thrive in relatively poor soil.

65 days to maturity
