Fruition's Desiccant Packets Desiccant packets dramatically increase the storage life of your seeds. Simply tuck them in an airtight container with your seeds to keep them optimally dry for years to come.

Particularly if you're interested in freezing your seeds for long-term storage, desiccant packets are invaluable. To freeze seeds, tuck one desiccant packet in a closed plastic bag with your seeds for three days, letting the desiccant wick away any excess moisture. After the third day, into the freezer they go.

5 of 5 Clarification to the below question February 13, 2020
Reviewer: Mimi from PAC NW
In regards to the question I left below, I meant that I’m worried about causing harm, not dormancy, to the seeds by over-drying them, due to leaving the desiccant packet inside with my seeds (in the bag with them during their long-term storage). Will this hurt them and should I remove it & not store them together in the freezer for the long-term?

5 of 5 Question February 13, 2020
Reviewer: Mimi from Pac NW
For freezing purposes for long-term storage: After 3 days of having all your packets of seeds inside an air-tight plastic bag, with the desiccant bag from fruition inside with them, do you take the desiccant bag out or store it with the seeds inside the ziplock bag? Basically, I’m worried about over-drying my seeds and potentially causing dormancy. What do you advise Fruition?

5 of 5 So useful for storing seeds! August 9, 2019

I wanted a way to make sure the lettuce seed I saved stayed dry in a tupperware container, and these desiccant packets have been the perfect thing! I also keep some in the plastic container I use for storing the veggie seeds I purchase each season.

The Desiccant packets worked great to protect my seeds throughout the year.  I kept them in a cooler temp and I was able to plant last years seeds in my garden successfully!
