Organic Red Russian Kale
Grown by Fruition Seeds in Naples, NY HEIRLOOM If we could only grow one kale (an unfathomable notion!), Red Russian would be the one. Its leaves are colorful and abundant at any size and are perfect for salads, soups and kale chips throughout the year. We select for vigorous leaves that are rich green and deeply lobed with brilliant purple stems. Overwintered in the field without row cover, our seed is incredibly well-adapted for both fall and spring harvest here in the Northeast. A staple in salads all season long, we sow these seeds every couple weeks for a consistent supply of baby leaves. The sweetness of kale increases with cold and even freezing temperatures; our favorite months for kale is late November through mid-May.

All kales offer tender, sweet micro and baby greens and are easy to grow in a windowsill over the winter.

8 days for microgreens
20 days for baby greens
