HEIRLOOM A bright green maroon-speckled romaine dating back to the 1700s, its German name 'Forellenschluss' translates to 'Speckled Like a Trout' appropriately. We appreciate the excellent flavor and notable bolt resistance of Flashy Troutback and it is perfect harvested as cut-and-come-again baby greens or as full, open heads of crunchy romaine lettuce.

My favorite lettuce! So many positives about it - looks, taste, and longevity in the garden. Kept beautifully in a plastic covered hoop under fabric over the winter and bounced back to full growth when temps. rose.

Tender, prolific December 12, 2017

These seeds sprouted quickly, hung out in a clump until I could get around to planting them, still grew into good-sized heads. Tender, crisp leaves. Am growing more under lights in the house this winter.
